Today we wanted to discuss one of the newest trends, face yoga.
Face yoga, or simply known as facial exercises, can help strengthen specific muscle groups in the face to keep the skin on top plump and firm. It is a free and non-invasive technique that helps keep the skin looking young. It can also help with various health issues such as neck pain, snoring, headaches and speech issues.
See below a list of facial exercises for ageing skin:
For fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead
Make a fist with both hands, place the knuckles of your middle fingers in the centre of your forehead and while applying moderate pressure slide the fists to each side of the forehead.
For thin lips and wrinkles around the mouth
Sit down, slightly tip your head back, pucker the lips and push forward. Hold this pose for 10 seconds.
For eye bags and drooping eyebrows
Place your palms on the sides of your face with your ring fingers on the ends of your eyebrows. Apply slight pressure and lift the hands up and back to pull the skin whilst dropping the jaw.
For sagging necks and jaws
Tilt your head until you feel your neck stretching, puff your lower lip out, place your fingers on each side of your neck and stroke down to your collarbone.
For crow’s feet and drooping eyelids
Make a peace sign with both hands, place your fingers on the inner and outer edges of your eyebrows and apply moderate pressure whilst looking upwards and squinting.
We hope you enjoyed this blog post. Next week we will be discussing the importance of exercise.
